Kindergarten News!

We met Mr. R this week!  He is covered in RAINBOW RIBBONS! He gets them because he raised the reddest roses! He has a rather tricky sound so any extra reinforcement you can give would be very helpful!  Right on!

Brainstorming R words!!

We made Roy G. Biv! He is a great friend who helps us
remember the order of the colors in the rainbow!

We read a story called, If I Had a Robot!
We shared something we would have our robot do for us!
(Something we don’t like to do!!)

We held our own election on Tuesday!
Here was our ballot!

Our Voting Booth!

The results...
Hillary Clinton received 17 votes.
Donald Trump received 23 votes.

We listened to many, many rhyming books this week!
We know that words rhyme when they have the same ending sounds!
Rat, pat, sat, cat, mat, fat...this is also a WORD FAMILY!

We LOVED our rhyming share! Thanks for being so creative!
We made a book out of it! Here are some tips about rhyming!
We made rubbing creations!

Don’t forget...
If you order something from the book order that you want us to hide for you for Christmas...just let us know! Ho, Ho, Ho!

Teacher tip!
Little practice tablets with easy dot-to-dots
(1-20) and color by number  make GREAT
stocking stuffers!!!

We finger painted on rainbow paper!

So sorry for the stained hands!
The finger paint container said washable! Ahhhhh!

In writing...we finished our study of teaching books and moved on to writing narratives (stories)! Ask your kindergartner what they are working on!

We learned about recycling this week!
Reduce, re-use, recycle!

We read a story called, The Legend of the Native American Paintbrush. Then we learned about pictograghs.
That is how native Americans "wrote" their stories!
We wrote a short story USING pictographs!

Here are just a few examples of pictographs!

We went to Parker Place for a presentation from the
Blank Park Zoo! We learned a lot!!
We saw two reptiles, a bird, and a mammal!

Reminder...we have a two and a half hour early out next
Wednesday, Nov. 16th!

More fun pics from our week!

Reading books with Mrs. Koenen!

Reading our books to our fourth grade friends!
