Kindergarten News...February 24, 2017

We met Ms. W. this week!  She loves words, words, words!  In fact, she has words all over her body!

We learned some very cool things about WATER this week!
We PROVED it, because, in science, you have to be able to do that!
We learned...
1.Water takes up space.
2. Water has weight.
3. Water takes the shape of its container.
4. Our Earth has more water than land.
5. Some things absorb water...some things repel water!

Box tops!
Please keep sending them in box tops!
It is a great way for us to earn money for things we need at school! Thanks!

For Writers Workshop, we will be writing HOW-TO Books.
We brainstormed possible topics!

For R.A.M.M….we learned about line dancing!!!

For R.A.M.M. we also had guest speakers who taught us about the cowboy way!
Thursday February 23rd, Ann Luebbers and Jim Meyer came with their two assistants and talked about, "The Cowboy Way," which is to do the right thing. They talked about the reasons cowboys needed to wear a hat, boots, chaps, long-sleeved shirt, scarf, and belt. It was all for protection from the sun, water, and snakes. Two students first graders (Julia Mostek and Cameron Meyer) got to model the cowboy clothes. He also talked about how cowboys protected and comforted the cattle along the trail. We sang some cowboy songs with Jim at the end.

We read books about water, the weather, our wonderful world!

We tried to talk WITHOUT words! Ask your child about that!!

More fun pics from the week!!
