We met Mr. O this week! He is an interesting looking fellow!
He has examples of opposites all over his body!
For example, one of his eyes is open and the other is closed!
Ask your child about his other features!
We read many, many books about OPPOSITES this week.
We made a very neat opposite project using
We learned about the color word “orange” this week.
We made Christmas countdown chains this week to help us keep track of how many days until the big day!
Take a link off every day!
Reminder...
Next Thursday, December 22nd, is a 2 and a half hour early out. We have our Christmas party over the lunch hour! MANY things will be coming home that day...including your child's water bottle (for a good cleaning).
Please return it the first day back in 2017!! Thanks!
We had Leadership Teams this week!
Our lesson focus...IT'S BETTER TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE!!
In Math group, we played a game that REALLY helped us practice the teens! Remember...the TEENS are numbers with a group of TEN...
with some extra ones!

We read stories about owls this week!
We learned about the orchestra.
We learned about the ocean and did an octopus alphabet!
Mrs. Seehusen came from Farm Bureau's Ag in the Classroom!
We read a story called Christmas Tree Farm, by Ann Purnell.
Mrs. Seehusen showed us three different varieties of Christmas trees!
Then we got to make a tree of our own!

In Writers Workshop, we continue to work on our pattern books!
Two ideas that we focused in on...
1. Writers go back through their book to see if they can add another sentence!
2. Illustrators go back and see if there is anything they can do to make their illustrations BETTER!!
We put up one of our FAVORITE bulletin boards of all!
"Good Golly, Let's get Jolly!"

We made elf bodies last Friday...and added our picture!
We love our hardworking elves!! :)
