Kindergarten News

We met Mr. Q. this week!
He is the last letter person! Woohoo!
We have met the entire alphabet! He has many quiet questions inside his head. We know that asking questions helps us LEARN!!

Mr. Q is covered with question marks! We estimated how many are on him!
There were 122...Max was right on!! Amazing!

We painted a Q using q-tips!

We learned that “u” always comes with “q”!

We read a hilarious book called, Q is for Duck.
It is filled with alphabet riddles (questions).
In case you are wondering...q is for duck because a duck quacks!!

We talked about question words:
Who?  What?
Where?  When?
Why? and How?
When these words are at the beginning of a sentence...
it is probably going to be a QUESTION!

The kindergartners were asked MANY questions this week…
What do you do if you are sleepy?
What do you do when you are bleeding?
How can you tell if your soup needs salt?
How can you tell sandpaper is rough?
What is your favorite toy? Why?
What do monkeys eat?
Where do you put a dirty tissue?
Where can you find a lion?

We decorated question marks!

We had a Weekly Reader about ducks! Quack!

We will read several stories about quiet things…
one was called, The Quiet Evening, by Thacher Hurd.

We took a walk down memory lane and went through all of the books we have written this year! We shared with a partner! It was so much fun to look back! We have written SO MANY!!

In Math, we learned about quarters.
Mrs. Koenen taught about the coin called a quarter.

Mrs. V. taught the kids about the quarter that means
1/4 of something!

More great pics from our SHORT week!

So beautiful!!

Creating with old crayon boxes!

Spelling with blocks!!

We are SO EXCITED to have all of the letter people here!
Now we can make any word we want!  :)

Have a great weekend!
