Kindergarten News

We met TWO Ms. Ys this week! Twins!  
(That is because y can be a consonant OR a letterlight!)
The twins are always yawning...and you know how yawning goes...
it’s very contagious!!

We learned about the color word yellow!

We read, Rosie and the Yellow Ribbon!

Ms. Y’s favorite word is YES!  

We read a cute poem about that word and a story called Yes Day!!

We learned about yawning...why do

we yawn anyway? Then we talked about something

that makes us yawn.  Ha-ha!!

“Yy”  is a very tough sound for the kids to hear...any extra practice you can give your child would be terrific!!!

We read several books about what year is.

Then talked a lot about what can makes up a YEAR!

Puzzles, puzzles, puzzles! Brainpower and teamwork!


The lunch ladies served FRESH pineapple this week! It was delicious! They made a parrot out of the pineapple!



Mrs. V's grand daughter came for a visit!
The boys and girls were so sweet! 
They sang her a few songs and tolerated her curious-ness!
She LOVED it!  :)

Reminder...
Next Thursday and Friday is Kindergarten Round-up!

The regular kindergartners do not have school!

Book orders are due next Wednesday! There are some AWESOME
beginning reader SETS! For example...



We are finished working on "how-to" books! 
We had a celebration and shared with the other class!
