The BEST "S" word...Smile!

We met Ms. S. this week! She has many fears...but when she puts on her super socks...she feels better. We talked and wrote about fears and how to handle them! Everyone had something to contribute!!

We read a cute poem called “Spaghetti.” It said that spaghetti is wonderful stuff...it wiggles and squiggles...it is slurpy and squishy and sloshy...and we can’t get enough!! Yum!

We learned some letters work together to make a whole NEW sound! S and H work together to say shhhh! We read books about shadows and made many shadows of our own on a sheet.

We shadow-danced!

It was fun...we got to boogie to some GREAT music!

Other time letters BLEND together….but they each say their own sound...like the s and p in the word spinner!

We made super spinners!

We read the most hilarious book called Smelly Socks by Robert Munsch. Then we each got to design a new sock for Ms. S. We compiled them all in a book!

FYI...your kindergartner may occasionally bring a worksheet home that is not finished. That is okay...unless I have written otherwise, you can

consider it extra practice homework! Thanks!!

One (hot and humid) afternoon, we decided to change things up a little!

Mrs. Koenen took all the boys in her room and Mrs. V took all the gals in her room and we played Alphabet BINGO!!

We welcomed Fall on Thursday...we discussed the changes we will be seeing!

We learned about our skin! We did exercises that begin with /s/...sit ups, stretches, side bends, and swaying!!

We still tried to pack a lot of learning into a very busy and fun-filled Homecoming Week! We really enjoyed the spirit days! Enjoy the photos below!
