Kindergarten News! 09-09-16

We met Ms. T this week!  She has Tall Teeth!

We use those words to help us remember her sound!

    We had a Weekly Reader about different animal teeth!

Mrs. Cooley taught the kids how to use the OSMO!! Wow!

YOU REALLY have to use brainpower for that!

Look at the new technology area in Mrs. Koenen's room!

                We learned what a tube is.
Then we read a poem called "The Magic Tube", by Jean Warren.
It was a creative action rhyme that invites dramatic play. Children were encouraged to come up with their own ideas of things their
magic tube could be. We had to use our imagination!

Here are some of our ideas:
a lamp tree bed stand to rake leaves with golf club tee sword puppet tunnel log stick long finger a leg
an arm vase house tower
paint brush
curling iron
Unicorn horn
number one
letter l

We designed a t-shirt in Art!!

We read a story called, My Teacher Sleeps In School! It was funny! Then we talked about all the things we see OUR teacher doing throughout the day!
We also drew a portrait of our teacher!

We learned what nouns are…

a word that names a person, place, or thing!

We made a book of nouns.

We learned about the word the this week!

Our computer lab is closed for upper grade MAPS testing so
we checked out the ipad cart!

We played Tic-Tac-Toe!  It is Ms. T’s favorite game!

You really have to think strategically!

Our reading series story was, Dig, Dig, Digging!  It taught us about vehicles that help people! We also learned about other kinds of tools that help us!

We worked on independent reading! Our reading series has a large set of readers for many levels of readers. We learned what the color code is on the books and then we had a chance to explore!

We are reviewing SHAPES in Math!
Mrs. Koenen did some fun activities with CIRCLES!!

We went on a walk to visit our tree!
We will visit at other times too....so we can see it change through the seasons!

More fun in kindergarten!






We had Falcon Football players come and read to us!

Mrs. V’s class had Bryce Hoeppner!

Mrs. Koenen’s class had Lucas Foxen, Aaron Price, and Mason Wessels!
