We met Mr. M. this week!  He came to visit us from the Land of the Letter People. The words we use to remember his sound are Munching Mouth. He has been teaching us the name of his letter, the sound of his letter, and we practiced printing his letter!  Take a walk around your house this weekend and find things that begin with the sound mmm.

We have learned that we can all be writers...just like the authors of the books we read! We also know hat writers need TIME to write so we have started working in our journals!!  Our teacher asks a question and we answer it with a picture, some letters and sometimes WORDS (later on)!

 This week we journaled about our moms!!

Reminder...

There is no school on Monday, Sept 5th.   

There is a 2.5 hour early out on Sept. 14th and 28th for professional development!

We read a story about magnifying glasses called, Grandpa's Wonderful Glass. Then we used magnifying glasses!

We were so happy for cooler weather...we didn't have to have our

daily cool down time!

We learned many things about computer and ipad care this week

We did a fun project called Masking Tape Magic!

Ask your child about the MAGIC!!

We learned about character and setting...

ask your child about these when you read a story together!

We read a story about a monster whose ended up NOT being a monster...it was a MOUSE! Ask your child about that! Then we made a class monster!

We sorted M&Ms this week....we sorted by color and did lots of

counting and comparing!

We learned about maps this week and made some of our own!

Talk to your child about school this weekend!

Ask about lunch, recess, rules, Gym, Art, etc.,...etc.,...     :)

Sometimes it takes a village to sharpen a pencil! Haha!!

Kindergartners are always exploring and learning about their world!
